Comment:

 If you find a bug, Please re-open the ticket, I'm closing this as invalid
 again, due to there being no reason to believe this is a bug. Updating the
 post in WordPress means either the data is being re-written, or some data
 you've inserted is being corrected, which is resulting in the post now
 being visible.

 If at all possible, i'd suggest you include the !WordPress library and
 call wp_insert_post() directly instead of manipulating the database
 directly.
