Comment:

 I'm still in the camp for a better error page but I would like to leave
 this till 3.1 as it is not a major issue and doesn't occur frequently.

 I want to see if we can maybe find a good solution to this - maybe we can
 come up with a way of using the default theme but displaying an error in
 the backend when we can't find the theme files.
