 By default, posts do not allow comments or trackbacks. Clicking "Allow
 Comments" then "Update" is used to enable comments for a post. This works
 perfectly fine in every browser except...wait for it...Internet Explorer.
 When the page refreshes after clicking "Update", those checkboxes aren't
 checked anymore.

 The specific version of IE I'm using is 8.0.6001.18702.

 I looked at the POST data and there are several differences between what
 Firefox is POST-ing and what IE8 is POST-ing. For this bug,
 "comment_status" and "ping_status" are missing in IE8.

 I also have the latest version of Wordpress and have deactivated all
 plugins to ensure a plugin wasn't causing this behavior.
