 I followed installation instructions to a T but the procedure did not
 create any tables. I reset the .htaccess file and deleted the wp-config
 file and did a reinstall. Still no tables.

 I have WP running in another directory using a different MySQL db. Not
 sure that would cause this problem. I don't suppose creating the tables
 manually would help????
