 That was just an example.

 It can happen with any functionality which one transport supports that
 another doesnt.

 HEAD requests, SSL, SSL options, Custom headers, etc. If the transport
 chosen for the first request doesnt support the functions the 2nd request
 requires, the 2nd request will fail.
