Comment:

 This patch took me down quite a rabbit hole.  Its going to need a lot of
 testing since the changes were pretty wide spread.  One issue I do know
 about that I wanted some feedback on is that there is no default term for
 custom taxonomies built in by default.  This causes issues if the user
 wants to uncheck all terms since the $_POST['input_tags'][$taxonomy] is
 empty.
