Comment:

 Whilst a plugin (actually, several) exist for this purpose, Given its come
 up on wp-hackers twice in the last ~month, and generally has been taken as
 a positive move for the majority of users, I'll write up a patch for this
 for 3.0(Given 2.9's feature freeze).
