 Just to note: most clients using the XMLRPC API expect to supply and
 receive the "more" text in the mt_text_more field. It would be damaging to
 change the behavior in such a way that more text was returned in the
 regular description field.

 Unless something has changed dramatically in recent releases of WordPress,
 I would not characterize this as a bug.
