 Tried the patch. I like the approach in it, and I really fail to see the
 point in any kind of undo on top -- it seems it would only add clutter to
 the UI.

 One small change I'd suggest, though: remove the confirmation js over in
 the drop down when doing a bulk delete, except when a permanent delete is
 happening. And change the text accordingly (i.e. You're about to
 permanently delete ...).
