 The patch I made then is almost certainly out of date now, and would need
 to be refreshed.

 Still, it would be nice if there was some way to rig it so that the
 manifest for Google Gears and the Firefox one were the same, so that
 updates didn't need to happen in both places. Any way to detect the
 requester, to serve the correct manifest file?
