#8799: get_search_form() is inadequately documented

 Priority:  normal         |   Milestone:  2.7.1
Component:  WordPress.org  |     Version:  2.7
 Severity: normal | Keywords: search theme documentation codex
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
 According to the Codex page,
 "[http://codex.wordpress.org/Migrating_Plugins_and_Themes_to_2.7 Migrating
 Plugins and Themes to 2.7]", the new template tag get_search_form() is
 designed to be used in place of the old searchform.php system. That Codex
 page mentions that this tag can be filtered to allow "plugin authors or
 theme designers to alter the structure of the search form entirely", yet
 the Codex does not state ''how'' this filtering can be done.

 This is obviously puzzing users who, like me, want to alter the structure
 of the search form.[[http://wordpress.org/support/topic/225241

 The get_search_form() template tag clearly needs to be documented better.
