 Not every file has the endings as such.

 It also has zero chance of throwing an error, it reduces errors in
 reality. PHP doesnt require a closing statement, however, it does print
 whitespace if theres multiple new lines or other hidden characters after
 the {{{?>}}}, which can cause bugs.

 I do agree, it'd be nice if all the files followed the same pattern
 though. wp-config.php is one which no longer has them, since users modify
 the file, and can often lead to accidental extra output..
