Comment:

 Along similar lines, I'd like to highlight the use case where a theme has
 more than a single sidebar, which I recently bumped into.

 Until WP 2.5 you could drag and drop a widget from one sidebar to another.
 With the new widget admin screen, you have to open two browser windows
 (one per sidebar), and dutifully copy and paste the options. :(
