 Actually, even people who DO host their plugins on WP Extend could use the
 "Update URL" header.  It would serve as a backup in case there is a
 glitch/failure on the server side.

 ALSO: I think I would add a filter or do_action so that in case "3" above,
 authors can influence the output just before it is written to the page.
 Actually, this would be better than (as I suggested above) automatically
 appending the GET.  With a filter, the author can add a GET or #id or do
 anything he chooses.

 What do people think about this?
