 Mmm... that would rule out folders "my_strange_folder../subfolder", which
 are valid in linux/unix. Notice the '/'. before $plugin in the
 comparision, which merges the '/../' with the '../' cases together. I gave
 thorough thinking to these changes to make them comprehensive and as fast
 as possible.
