 It appears that WP does not display or store IPv6 addresses correctly. For
 instance, a commenter from address 2002:4cbb:a5f8::4cbb:a5f8 left a
 comment, and his IP address was incorrectly recorded and displayed under
 Comments and in the notification email as 2002458458. This is also how the
 address appears in the database.

 IPv6 addresses contain the characters 0-9, a-f and : (colon). These
 characters should not be filtered when sanitizing an IP address.
