 What is the specific need to make this feature more pronounced?
 I personally do not use Gears and not going to, yet I'm forced this link
 on me and I often click on it instead of "log out". It is certainly a
 usability issue for me, and I don't think I'm alone here.

 And yes, I know that I can remove it from WordPress source, however with
 automatic updates in 2.7 this is hardly going to work (in fact I
 specifically replaced most of my patches with plug-ins and "Turbo" is one
 of the few features I still cannot write a plug-in to disable).
