 I agree, I have RC1 on my home server, it works fine for me. Basically the
 categories, post2cat, link2cat tables have been removed and replaced with
 other ones, so it is likely a plugin is causing the problem, check with
 the plugin developer and get them to update for Wordpress 2.3.
