 If we had an importer that could send XML-RPC requests using the
 metaWeblog protocol, it would be possible to import posts/categories from
 any blogging system that supported  it, which is quite a lot.

 This is also the only way I can see to retrieve post data from MSN's Live
 Spaces system. Reference:

 With some additions, one could add support for the MoveableType and/or
 Blogger XML-RPC protocols, although since we already have methods to
 import these, it might not be as useful.
