 Additional Information:

 1) With the "wp_hash" line commented out of wp-cron.php, the problem
 continues. (As I reported earlier, with that commented out, loading wp-
 cron.php in a browser DOES publish the future-dated posts. But I thought
 making the change to wp-cron.php might fix the overall problem of future-
 dated posts not being published automatically. It did not fix it.)

 2) Just to idiot-check, I disabled my custom theme, and switched to
 Kubrick. The problem continued unchanged. This is not a theme issue.
