I was developing a theme for a site earlier today and I stumbled upon a
rather interesting bug. As usual, I deleted the old about page and created
a new one. I added the "about" page template I had created, and to my
amazement, it was still using the default page template. I removed the
default page template in my templates folder and - out of all the things -
it simply went back to using the default index page.

After playing around with it for a while, I found a way to fix it.
Apparently, the page template name and the filename can't be the same as
the actual page name (simply renaming the template to about-page.php and
the template name to "About Page" did the trick.)
