 I had two plugins installed: Google Toolbar and DOM Inspector (the later
 delivered by Mozilla). I uninstalled both plugins and still have the same
 problem. From the time the Write page first appears, it takes 19 seconds
 for the edit box to finally appear. Everything else about this entire site
 is quite snappy except for the editor.

 This is happening with FF 2.0.0.1 on a Windows Vista box on a major
 university network and on a Windows XP box on a home network with 1.5Mb/s
 DSL.
