 I'm just looking over this ticket and I understand what you're trying to
 accomplish, but why not replace wp-config.php in the actual root with a
 file that just includes a "wp-config-phantom.php" (using getcwd())?  That
 way you don't have to modify all the WP core files that include wp-
 config.php using the __FILE__ method, including plugins....  Can you
 follow me?

 I think that will work, but I'm not positive.  Let me know if it does.

 I don't think changing the WP core to use getcwd() is a good idea, as matt
 mentions, more plugins than you can imagine are using this method.
