Originally introduced in <a href="https://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/30241">[30241]</a> and reverted in <a href="https://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/30336">[30336]</a>, term splitting is
back and better than ever. Now with *more unit tests* and *improved treatment
of child terms*!
