 Meta endpoint (https://api.wordpress.org/core/version-check/1.7/)
 disallowed when using Javascript due to error:

 XMLHttpRequest cannot load https://api.wordpress.org/core/version-
 check/1.7/. No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the
 requested resource. Origin ‘https://localhost:3000’ is therefore not
 allowed access.
