 We may also want to consider moving away from `pending` to a different
 post_status for any yet-to-be-discovered quirks of the inbuilt `pending`
 status.

 That may bode well with splitting the status from just `Pending` to
 something such as `Pending awaiting Developer`, `Pending awaiting Security
 Review`, `Pending awaiting Plugin Admin Review`, etc. Creating multiple
 statuses and referencing it as
 `Plugin_Directory::$pending_plugin_statuses` could make a lot of the core
 easier to handle.
