 @melsenc and I worked on an updated design for these landing pages at
 WordCamp Boston's contributor day this past weekend, using some of the
 recent WordPress.org designs being worked on by @mapk as inspiration:

 @ryelle has volunteered to build the updated landing page plugin. The
 customization options will be relocated to the Customizer, and will
 feature support for Header Images, Logos, and maybe some color/font
 options. Going to work with ryelle to determine what is feasible.
