 @dd32: It looks like the item highlighting issue was introduced in #1128,
 since
 [http://web.archive.org/web/20150316202616/https://ru.wordpress.org/2014/07
 /wordcamp-russia-2014/ it did not exist in March].

 Perhaps it could be fixed in some other way that does not involve a static
 front page?
