 Some lame firewalls stop `git://` traffic. It would be nice - especially
 for read only clones - to be able to access the WordPress git repositories
 via HTTP or HTTPS.

 I'm not sure how painful this is or if it's better of waiting until a
 mirror like #633 is in place.
