 At the moment, it's impossible to sign up for email notification of new
 releases. The simple form on the sidebar of http://wordpress.org/download/
 leads to http://wordpress.org/list/ with an error message about an invalid
 submission. (The address submitted was definitely valid.)

 The profile form on the list page requires the user to create an account
 rather than just signing up for the list. My client didn't want to do
 that, but we tried it anyway. Once we finally got a captcha we could read,
 this form led to a whitescreened page.
