[wp-hackers] Introducing myself to the Wordpress team

Hi , I am a Computer Science student from India. I am interested in participating in GSoC with Wordpress. I have proficient knowledge of PHP and Javascript . 

I want to take up the "The Search Initiative" project on the ideas page. I want to know how can I proceed and what exactly has to be done in the project
