Yep, resizing the image at browser level is probably not the best idea.
The page still loads the full-size image, so it's going to hurt your
pagesizes.

I won't namedrop, but there's a forum I frequent that only allows the
posting of thumbnails. The developers of that site have found a way to
then automatically display a link to the image below. This is uniform
across the site, and seems a pretty good idea. Worth a thought?
