Thanks Jesse, even though your solution is accurate we want to steer clear
of modifying core files unless we have to. There's also a few other methods
of removing those comments from the display, one that I'm contemplating is
simply adding an additional query string for the comment moderation UI that
we can require the user have.
Sort of like, ?author=2234 for the media page.

[note] I know the user will still be able to see the other media or comments
if they just pass another random number within the string but the content is
public and they can't edit it anyways.
