Not as far as I know

You are quite welcome to raise one at http://core.trac.wordpress.org

One of the main reasons that WordPress doesn't support it at the  
moment is that it tries to provide the same interface for content  
editing regardless of entrypoint - Admin/APP/XMLRPC so that the end- 
user gets a consistent behaviour

You may want to discuss this issue further on the wp-xmlrpc mailing  
list which is dedicated to the external APIs WP provides.
