[wp-hackers] Make WP permalinks ignore a directory?

I have no experience with bbpress, but

RewriteRule ^forum/.* - [L]

before the wordpress-generated code should do the trick; and bbpress 
rewrites should work, too, since they are handled by forum/.htaccess 
(right?)
