My point was kind of that bittorrent clients are a mixture of open and
closed freeware and otherwise software - they don't have the advantage that
all these open-source script-based packages do with complete transparency
and huge communities and mailing lists and all, yet they manage to churn out
these fully-compatible protocols, protocol add-ons, and implementations just
fine.
