[wp-hackers] WP.com Stats Image

Normally a 1x1 transparent gif is used by most stat packages. WordPress 
likes to differ, why?
Maybe it is hoping a viral marketing campaign where people start asking 
about the image.

Have you considered using Google Analytics? In the latest incarnation it 
rocks.
