As far as I know, the GPL does allow them to sell it, but also requires
them to release the code under the same license, which means you should
always be able to get it for free. Nobody sells Wordpress, do they?
What people sell is support and services - that's where all the real
money is anyway.
Besides which, it's good for the soul to do something that others can
use freely :D
I release mine under one of the MIT licenses - it's GPL compatible, I
won't make any money, but my name should stay on the top. That's enough
for me, at least.
