I agree with Podz, if someone is savvy enough to be editing a theme
they should also be savvy enough to make a backup of the original
and/or be able to correct their mistakes using another copy of the
standard download.

I think, while it may be a nice feature if the themes were *very* easy
to change if the user is not a designer/programmer - i.e. via a
wysiwyg theme editor in wp-admin, that the feature is overkill and
will only help 0.05% of people who really should know better.
