There are those of us who don't have the SEO of Themeforest or the popularity Woo, so exposure on WP.org is a great way to stimulate productivity and feedback for work that would otherwise go unseen. I'm not saying it's a responsibility of WP to offer such "perks" to contributors, but it certainly helps things to keep moving.</div>

<div><br></div><div>While delay isn't an intended feature, it does ensure that commercial groups which aren't still around a couple of months later when we finally get back to them aren't wasting our time. Updating that list is extremely manual, so we want to have to maintain it as little as possible. If the list was to become a maintenance burden, then it would likely be removed entirely instead.</div>

Unlike the plugins email, which gets dozens a day, typically the commercial themes email only gets about 1-3 per week, max. So it's not something we check on a regular basis.
