Chip, what about custom themes for a one off client with no intent to
distribute? I'm entertaining the idea of doing some stock themes and I
want them to be compatible, but for the past four years I've earned my
living making custom themes for businesses and I built the resources
they wanted into their themes so long as they had the legal right to use
them for that purpose.

Does this disqualify me out of the gate from ever getting a theme into
the repository?
Selling custom work for clients has nothing to do with what you're
affiliated with or what you're distributing or selling on your own
site. That is fine.
I was trying to upload a theme, but it didn't make it past the automated
test. The message was: "The theme appears to use register_sidebar()
but no dynamic_sidebar() was found".

The reason for this is that the framework in use does have a call to
register_sidebar() in its files, but I'm not using that particular bit
of functionality.

Also, this fail message doesn't show up in the Theme Check plugin.
Hi,

When I upload a new version of my theme today, I got " There is no theme
called 'Tags(page-tags.php) Begin */' in the directory. For child themes,
you must use a parent theme that already exists in the directory."

After searching all files I found some CSS codes with comments like this:

/* page template: Tags(page-tags.php) Begin */
.zAlive_page_tags a{float:left;margin:0 10px 15px 0;}
/* page template: Tags(page-tags.php) End */

So that means we can't write comments like /* comments:text */ in
style.css even if they are not in the header ?

Thanks !
