<div dir="ltr">Yes, use of add_image_size() is allowed. It must be inside a callback, hooked into an appropriate action (e.g. after_setup_theme). Normally, calls to add_image_size() come after the add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' ) call inside the Theme setup function.</div>
