<div dir="ltr">Hmm... IMO the correct approach for a Theme to take would be to have the user set the front page to display a static page, set the custom template for that static page to the "coming soon" template, then if 'page' == get_option( 'show_on_front'), and 'template-coming-soon.php' == get_post_meta( get_option( 'page_on_front' ), '_wp_page_template', true ), then redirect traffic to the front page.</div>
