As long as the site doesn't break if the user changes the theme, and
you're not duplicating core functionality, you're good. Generally,
however, these kind of things are considered plugin territory - that
way the user experience isn't affected by changing the theme.<br>
<br>
Can't think of an example widget to look at, off the top of my head.<br>
