<div dir="ltr">Sure, it's a buzzword, and as a buzzword it is overused (and oftentimes overemphasized).<div><br></div><div>But the mobile market is non-trivial, and users will want to find Themes that will work on monitors as well as tablets and mobile devices. So, it is in everyone's benefit to have a way to identify those Themes.</div>
<div><br></div><div>The key, I think, is defining what *WE* mean by a given keyword. "Responsive" may mean many things to many people, but we control how the keyword gets used (just like with every other keyword - for example, we require implementing core functionality when claiming feature keywords like "custom-background" and "custom-header").</div>

"Responsive", as a descriptive term, is completely meaning-free. It's<br>
a buzzword. Anything can be "responsive". You used some CSS media<br>
queries? Welp, guess it's responsive then. Or maybe you used some<br>
conditionals to make it look better on phones? Must be responsive. Or<br>
maybe you have it change as the window width changes? Or designed it<br>
specially for an iPad? Looks great on a Kindle? Yep, all "Responsive".<br>

Most overused buzzword in web design ever. And I include "Web 2.0" in<br>
that assessment.<br>
