Let's simplify this whole matter.<br><br>Based on the Theme Review Guidelines: "Author URI, if used, is <b>required</b> to link to an author's personal web site or project/development website.
"<br>Now, given if the theme meets all other required guidelines, the theme should be resolved to an approved status.<br><br>The Author URI guidelines, nor any of the Credit Links guidelines (<a href="http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Review#Credit_Links">http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Review#Credit_Links</a>) does not state anything at all about the actual domain name, period. Whatever the domain is, or was used for in the past, should not be relevant to the theme's approval resolution ... obviously I would expect there may be exceptions, such as for profane / vulgar domain names but this is not the case.<br>

Ya'll, when did common sense go out the window here? The site looks
totally legit, the current WHOIS record dates to this year, and there is
no reason not to give the theme author the benefit of the doubt. If the
theme passes review, why would the author url give anyone pause? It
takes two seconds to check out the site.<br>
<br>
I know I am not super active with the theme review team, but I follow
the list, and I am, quite frankly, a little taken aback that this
author's theme is being treated as suspicious based on the fact that a
few folks here just don't seem to like the author's branding choices. <br>
<br>
Just my two cents.<br>

Thanks, <br>

<blockquote type="cite">This is ridiculous. Why is this even up for discussion any
more? The name is legit, the site is legit, the theme is legit. In any
case, Chip, an admin, has spoken on the subject. This just sounds
personal and petty. Don't be subjective, be objective.<br>
<br>
Doesn't matter what the domain has been through in the past, that
happens sometimes. Frankly, the behavior of some on the review team
going to great lengths to investigate this matter seems more
questionable than this person's choice in a URL/site/brand name which is
really none of our business anyways. Can you say witch hunt?<br>
<br>
If anyone denies this theme based solely on it's name/URL (given that
you only subjectively don't get it or otherwise disagree with it) as
apposed to it actually having design or function flaws you're ethically
wrong, period and this is what will need to be examined further. As Chip
said which anyone with half a sense agrees with, words have many
meanings, especially from culture to culture or even person to person,
especially creatives. Look at how many words we simply make up on a
daily basis.<br>
<br>
If this is somehow found to be spam later, remove it. It's hardly
creating a precedence for spammers, who's going to know, who's going to
care? Look at the scrutiny that's already put on the themes, look at how
many themes even make it into the repo in the first place. I think the
world of WordPress theme reviews will be fine.<br>
