[theme-reviewers] Question about image credit

I know that the license has to be GPL compatible and cannot require a link.
However, when I get permission to use an image, or when the artist doesn't
require a link but I would still like to credit them, am I allowed to
credit the artist in the description? Not with a link, just with the name -
i.e. on my Blossom theme, in the description it says the flower image is by
Sourcow at Deviant Art. It doesn't link anywhere to DeviantArt.com.
