[theme-reviewers] Usage of Aqua Resize Script in themes

Hello Team,

Are themes allowed to use the Aqua Resize (https://github.com/syamilmj/Aqua-Resizer) script in lieu of wp_get_image_editor()?
http://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Image_Editor

If not, does anyone know how to get wp_get_image_editor() to work with get_post_thumbnail_id()/wp_get_attachment_url() instead of an ABSPATH?
