There are a lot more issues, but regarding just that issue, the ruckus was
caused by the pricing model:

Specifically, the restriction of 1 website, 6 websites and unlimited. When
asked in-ticket to clarify, it was clarified that it was not a support
limitation which would be okay, but an actual user restriction on the
freedoms the user has with the code, which is not okay.
