I think we should leave Chip to put his thinking cap on and work something out while we go and sort that priority #1 Que out :)

It takes a lot of time to review themes, after all that nominating someone else theme is a major downer, don't think anyone( other than zulf ) will be game :)
If possible please consider.

I would prefer to "spread the love" with Featured Theme nominations. Remember: this is supposed to be a fun, positive incentive; not a means unto itself.

That the Priority #1 queue is now getting ignored is a major problem, because that means that *end users* using those Themes are now being disadvantaged, by having to wait longer for updates to Themes currently in use.

even better, as usual miles ahead of the rest :)
but can you reconsider the only one featured theme per reviewer rule.

I actually would rather move toward a system where Priority #1 tickets get mass-marked as live upon approval, regardless of who reviews them. That would be my ideal system.

Thanks Chip, is it possible to give some old & regular reviewers ability to push only #1 tickets live? If so it will reduce burden on admins. Its probably asking too much.

I'm tossing around in my head the idea of a Priority #1 incentive, perhaps having the one (1) top monthly reviewer get to select a "Featured" Theme. But I need to think about it some more. There are some unintended consequences we need to avoid.

OK, just noticed that I've been mentioned twice so let me chime in on this one.

Priority #1 - Good to know is for everyone but that's not the reason I don't review those ticket. For me its not challenging enough to skim and hit approved.

Having said that, I think this should be changed and all priority #1 tickets should be put through a thorough re-review i.e check what has been added, omitted and/or changed - do they meet requirements? Do they work (if additions) as they should? No newly introduced errors (warning, notices and the likes)?

This would require downloading the theme, unzipping and checking the code (especially when its not possible to check via SVN diff system), Install and test then either approve or don't approve.

So, yes to thorough review but no to include priority #1 as part of the count for the incentive program - Why? Because the hard work has already been done by the original reviewer and credit for it give. If however the theme is not approved upon this review then the subsequent submission will fall under priority #3 and the next review would be entitle to be credited with a count on their approved themes.

Now that I have it confirmed and I'm allowed to venture in the #1 Que, here I come :) - I'll aim to do 1 from each Que at any given time when I have a free moment.

Yes, unfortunately that can happen,
Regular reviewers who have themeshops wouldn't do that tough :)

That's an idea. However, Priority #1 tickets get less scrutiny, and I fear that they would be skimmed too lightly in the name of gaming the system.

Could we not include priority one some how? Could you check at the end of the month how many of the priority 1 the winners have done or the top 5?
I spent a month working on the prio 1 just to realize they were not included.

There's no easy way to track that.

That would skew the numbers too much.

you are right, I think that in past couple of weeks #1 priority is not prioritizedand it should be :)

Thanks Emil, I mean too long is because at the time I send the first mail there are many tickets(about 30+ and there were tickets not resolved for 4weeks) in the theme update queue while the same time new theme queue is much shorter. And I think this may against the priority of each queue.

I really appreciate all reviewers work and that's why WordPress stronger. I will make more themes for free to the directory and I also hope to be a reviewer in the team somedays. But for now it just takes me too much time to think and write in English(this mail takes over 30 minutes) and this is really bad.
